🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Community Communication

The board approved the nomination as official community liaisons. This step aims to streamline communication between the masjid board and community members, ensuring smoother coordination and transparency.

🏫 School Growth & Future Planning

The masjid’s school has grown from an initial 40 students and now requires expansion. Discussions included exploring new facilities, possibly incorporating living quarters for staff. Locations like Liberty Township were mentioned, and coordination with nearby masjid projects is being considered.

🕌 Hiring of Imam

The board emphasized the importance of hiring an English-speaking Imam to better serve the community. Potential candidates from Louisiana and Boston are being considered. Patience was advised as the selection process may take time. There’s also a proposal to house the Imam in a two-family home to save costs.

⚠️ Behavioral Issues & Prayer Leadership

Concerns were raised about disruptive behavior within the masjid, particularly from individuals . The board discussed constructive engagement with them and proposed assigning four responsible individuals to lead prayers in the absence of an Imam.

👥 Leadership Evaluation & Staffing

The board expressed concerns regarding the current Imam’s long-term leadership suitability and suggested reassigning him to a teaching role. It was agreed the current school structure would remain, with the principal overseeing new staff. A new lecturer will begin delivering a series on the Prophet’s life starting November 12th.

📢 Final Thoughts & Action Plan

The meeting concluded with a strong call for better community involvement, improved management, and responsible use of resources. Legal consultation was also suggested for any future property rentals. Overall, the board stressed the need for unity, transparency, and shared responsibility moving forward.
